Nigerian Light Crude Oil
In consideration to the maximum crude oil capacity of over two million barrels per day, Nigeria is Africa's largest producer of crude oil and in the top ten largest oil producing countries in the world.
Nigeria's petroleum is classified mostly as "light" and "sweet", as the oil is largely free of sulphur. Nigeria is the largest producer of sweet oil on OPEC. This sweet oil is similar in composotion to petroleum extracted from the North Sea. This crude oil is known as "Bonny light". Names of the other Nigeria crudes, all of which are names according to export terminal, are Qua Ibo, Escravos Blend, Brass River, Forcados, Pennington and Antan Blend.
